Light
Light often becomes the main character in my paintings: it guides the eye, creates mood and holds the composition together.
About the artist
I create paintings about the quiet beauty of everyday life: light on water, a road between trees, childhood memories and moments worth preserving.

Ekaterina Chekha
Artist living and working in Lübben, Germany.
Story
I was born in Kazakhstan and spent my childhood in a small Siberian village. Nature, open space, snow, grass, wooden barns and quiet roads became the first images that stayed inside me.
I wanted to draw since childhood, but truly returned to painting as an adult in Germany. Today I work with oil, acrylic, watercolour and graphics, searching for my own language between realism, memory and inner state.
For me, a painting is not only an image. It is the feeling of a moment, air, colour, silence and a personal story that each viewer can feel in their own way.
Practice
I love texture, a living brushstroke and the feeling of unfinished reality — when a painting does not explain everything, but leaves space to breathe.
01
Light often becomes the main character in my paintings: it guides the eye, creates mood and holds the composition together.
02
Many subjects are born from childhood memories, family stories and places that cannot be forgotten.
03
I keep the trace of the brush and palette knife visible so the surface stays alive and carries the energy of movement.
